The changes that have occurred over the last year in Cape Charles will forever alter the appearance of our harbor area. This includes the removal of the rail yard and ferry dock area, as well as the closure of Bay Shore Concrete. With this in mind, Harvey “Windy” Belote, owner of WFS Aerial Imagery, generously volunteered to use his drone to capture what Cape Charles looked like at that moment in time (November 2018). The Bay Coast Railroad 2000 locomotive - which we believe to be a heavily modernized early Gp9 series General Motors diesel originally built for the Illinois Central Railroad in 1956 - on its way to the Cape Charles Museum and Welcome Center.
